Naval Reserve NMRTC Camp Lejeune, Operational Health Support Unit held a Change of Command Ceremony on Saturday, 6 March at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune. Captain Reginald Ewing, Commander NMRTC Camp Lejeune, presided over the ceremony in which Captain Michael Reineke relieved command to Captain Sherma Saif.

Captain Saif comes to NMRTC Camp Lejeune from his position as Executive Officer for Operational Health Support Unit Pensecola, Florida.

Captain Saif is excited about his new position as commander of the unit, “My vision, or goal, is to get the unit as ready as possible, whether it be at home, civilian job, and training so we will be able to answer the call from our nation when the time comes up.”

Fair winds and following seas to Captain Reineke who was with the command since December of 2018. Reineke says “The most memorable part is all the hard work of the reservists.” Reineke said he was extremely impressed with the fast response and quick mobilization of the unit in order to respond to COVID-19 in New York City. “NMRTC Camp Lejeune had folks who showed up with only one-to-two days’ notice and showed up and met the mission.”
