Amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) sits off the coast of White Beach Naval Facility as the national ensign flies from amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). Tortuga,commanded by Cmdr. John Barnett, is part of the only forward-deployed amphibious ready group and is currently operating in the 7th Fleet of Operations. The Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) is comprised of Tortuga, amphibious assault ship Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), amphibious transport dock USS Denver (LPD 9), the 31st MEU, Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 11 and Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7.
