Army Materiel Command’s Ricky Sims grew up to follow in the military footsteps of his father, Vietnam veteran Danny William Sims. While the elder Sims was an enlisted Soldier who trained as an aviation ground support technician, Ricky Sims commissioned as an Army officer and flew Black Hawk helicopters during numerous wartime deployments. The elder Sims is being honored for his service in Thailand during the Vietnam War as part of the Army Materiel Command’s Vietnam Veteran Commemoration Program. (Courtesy Photo)
