    Lance Cpl. Jacob Noremberg, pointman, Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, Regimental Combat Team 6, sits in the back of his vehicle with Lance Cpl. Robert Owens II, team leader with Noremberg’s company before a convoy, Aug. 26, 2012. Owens witnessed Noremberg get shot while Noremberg ran between two compounds. Owens was the first person to make sure Noremberg was unharmed after the round impacted into his right Small Arms Protective Insert plate.
