Hull Maintenance Technician 2nd Class Justin Mcleod holds the national ensign during a final salute ceremony with sailors from Assault Craft Unit 4 in the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21). The ceremony was held for a retired chief petty officer who recently passed away. New York is part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and is currently deployed supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
