Thomasville, Ga., native Capt. Lee Robinson, former commander of Company A, 1st "Attack" Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, speaks at the Veterans Day ceremony at the Veteran's Memorial in Hemet, Calif., Nov. 11. His former Soldier, Chief Warrant Officer Keith Yoakum, a native of Hemet, was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross; an award second only to the Medal of Honor. Yoakum, along with his copilot, Chief Warrant Officer Jason Defrenn, died in combat, Feb. 2, while serving in Iraq.
