A California Army National UH-60 Black crew from the 1-140th Aviation Battalion (Assault) in Los Alamitos, Calif., lifts off July 15 in its shocking pink-painted helicopter during the Robbers Fire in Placer County, Calif. The chopper is outlined in pink for visibility and identification, according to Chief Warrant Officer Bobby Brockly, operations officer at Mather Army Aviation Support Facility in Sacramento, Calif. This enables ground crews and aerial assets from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) better communication and coordination to fight the wildfire.
