U.S. Army Master Sgt. Leslie Martin, 448th Civil Affairs Battalion lead instructor, checks an overhead light onboard a Djiboutian naval patrol boat during a U.S. and Djiboutian electrical systems repair partnering session Aug. 25 to 29, 2012. Martin and U.S. Army Capt. Travis Perry, 448th CA Battalion assistant instructor shared best practices with the Djiboutian sailors. Martin and Perry are both reservists who have experience as electricians in their civilian lives. The civil affairs battalion is assigned to Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, which shares best practices with a range of host-nation military partners across East Africa.
