Both the Doughboy Monument and Memorial Hall were erected in 1923 in Burlington, N.J., March 11, 2021. The statue and building were dedicated to all the Burlington city citizens who died in World War I. Flanking the walkway leading up to the Hall are individual monuments recognizing Burlington residents who died in World War II, as well as the Korean and the Vietnam wars. The building now serves as American Legion Captain James MacFarland Post 79. (New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs photo by Mark C. Olsen)
