U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Jake Tyner, a Carbondale, Illinois, native and medical technician with the 75th Health Care Operations Squadron, 75th Material Command stationed at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, administers the COVID-19 vaccine to a community member at the state-led, federally-supported Ford Field COVID-19 Community Vaccination Center in Detroit, April 12, 2021. Tyner is part of a group of Airmen assigned to 1st Detachment, 64th Air Expeditionary Group that are assisting with the vaccination efforts. Tyner's main responsibility is supporting the local community members by administering vaccines. To his family back home, he said, “It's nice to see people are excited about getting vaccinated and believe in this effort.” Tyner is ready to provide a helping hand to the community of Detroit. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
