Tallying the count…and providing timely results, Hospital Corpsman 1st Class KC Geisler, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton Laboratory Department leading petty officer, uses the automated CBC (complete blood count) Analyzer to examine whole blood specimens, which can deliver important results to help a provider determine if a patient might have any potential infection, inflammation, certain cancers and other diagnoses. The entire process takes approximately a minute, which once done manually could – and would – take hours (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs officer).
