U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Todd Sturgill, platoon commander with 3rd Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6, provides roof top security at a vehicle check point (VCP) out of Forward Operating Base Shamsher, Helmand province, Afghanistan Sept. 6, 2012. Marines conducted the VCP as part of a security patrol to disrupt the flow of lethal and illicit aid by the enemy in the area.
