U.S. Marine Corps recruits with Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, stand at attention during the reading of a citation while undertaking the Crucible at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, on April 21, 2021. Every obstacle in the Crucible is named after an unsung hero, and before recruits execute an obstacle, they read the citation in honor of that hero at the Crucible.
