Brig. Gen. Niel E. Nelson pins the Bronze Star medal onto Capt. Christopher M. Kaprielian during an award ceremony at the 9th Engineer Support Battalion physical training field at Camp Hansen Sept. 5. Kaprielian planned and provided oversight for more than 45 major engineer efforts across the Helmand Province, and his planning orchestrated the completion of more than 60 kilometers of new route construction. Kaprielian is the company commander of Engineer Company A, 9th ESB, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Nelson is the commanding general of 3rd MLG.
