The 52nd Logistics Readiness Squadron’s Fuel Management Flight recently claimed the American Petroleum Institute trophy for their initiatives in 2020, including the creation of the Viper Kit rapid aircraft refueling sled, which led the team to be finalists in the annual Air Force Spark Tank competition. The flight, also referred to as the Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants flight (POL) is responsible for regular unleaded gasoline, diesel, JP-8 jet fuel, and liquid nitrogen and oxygen, all vital components for completing the Air Force’s many missions across the globe.
