Spc. August Barrows (far left) and Spc. Eddie Mendez (second from the right), help medics from the Pennsylvania Guard’s 108th Medical Company Area Support carry a litter bearing a wounded “active shooter” during a mass casualty rehearsal at Forward Operating Site Powidz, Poland, on May 7, 2021. Barrows and Mendez, MPs assigned to the 64th Military Police Company from Fort Hood, Texas, were the first Soldiers on the scene to this training scenario. Upon arrival, they updated the police dispatch desk of the situation, neutralized the threat, then provided first aid to the Soldiers (who played the roles of gunshot victims) until the 108th medics arrived.
