The ribbon cutting ceremony was for a new helicopter landing pad that will aid in future humanitarian disasters and emergencies, also shortening the time to the local hospital in the event of a medical evacuation. The project was completed by the joint efforts of Air Forces Southern, Joint Task Force-Bravo, the 612th Air Base Squadron and the security cooperation officer at the U.S. Embassy in Honduras.
