    Federal Vaccine Response

U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Sagan Barber, a Wisner, Nebraska native and clinical nurse with the 60th Healthcare Operations Squadron stationed at Travis Air Force Base, California, dons her personal protective equipment in order to prepare a syringe for the COVID-19 vaccine at the state-led, federally-supported Roosevelt High School COVID-19 Community Vaccination Center (CVC) in Gary, Indiana, May 24, 2021. Barber used her skills as a nurse to aid a victim in motorcycle accident on May 22, 2021. She assessed the injured rider and made sure he stayed conscious and as comfortable as possible before the paramedics arrived. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
