Royal Australian Air Force Warrant Officer Jason Ryan, F-35 Maintenance Training Instructional Specialist, marches with sideboys: British Royal Navy Lt. Samuel Gregory, Royal Danish Air Force Maj. Lars Hoffman, U.S. Marine Corps Maj. John Yunker, U.S. Navy Lt. Cdr. Amy Gabriel, and U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Ahave Brown, during the retirement ceremony for Capt. Jason Lopez, former lead of the F-35 Training Systems and Simulations Program Office (TSS PMO), at the Mount Vernon estate in Mount Vernon, Va. Training Systems and Simulations are a key component in reducing the F-35’s cost per flight hour by allowing pilots to have more realistic simulator time. The F-35 Joint Program Office is the Department of Defense's focal point for the 5th generation strike aircraft for the Navy, Air Force, Marines, and our allies. The F-35 is the premier multi-mission, 5th generation weapon system. Its ability to collect, analyze and share data is a force multiplier that enhances all assets in the battle-space: with stealth technology, advanced sensors, weapons capacity, and range. The F-35, which has been operational since July of 2015, is the most lethal, survivable, and interoperable fighter aircraft ever built.
