Navy and Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet squadrons around the world continually send Hornet engines to the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 11 power plants section. When the engines first arrive in cylindrical containers like these, they undergo several major engine inspections with a fiber-optic cable to better pin point the problem.
