Staff Sgt. Robert Effler, of Highland, Wisconsin, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 108th Sustainment Brigade, connects camouflague netting together in preparation to add it to the Tactical Operations Center site during the unit’s annual training at Camp Dodge, in Johnston, Iowa. Effler was among the approximately 180 Illinois Army National Guard Soldiers from the 433rd Signal Company and Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 108th Sustainment Brigade, based in Chicago, participating in the unit’s annual training. During the two week period, May 12-26, Soldiers participated in Army Warrior Tasks, setup and operated a Tactical Operations Center, conducted classroom instruction in land navigation and radio operations, and participated in a classroom war exercise. In addition, they were able to conduct weapons qualifications and conduct a land navigation course.
