U.S. Army Lt. Col. Leroy L. Cisneros and Nathan Iglesias, both captains in this 2008 photo, reunited once again as members of Joint Task Force 115, California National Guard, in 2021. The pair served as officers in charge of the Community Vaccination Center (CVC) in Oakland, California, that recently closed its successful operation that administered more than 500,000 COVID-19 doses to San Francisco Bay Area residents. Cisneros replaced Iglesias in April and continued the vital operation. Thirteen years ago the Cal Guard officers served Operation Enduring Freedom together in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, the country’s fifth largest city. (U.S. Army National Guard photo provided by Lt. Col.
