Pallets of food, water and fuel are air dropped from a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III using low-cost, low-velocity chutes on Sept. 2, 2012, Afghanistan. The 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron provides global strategic airlift, airdrop, aeromedical evacuation and humanitarian relief, creating an air bridge for personnel, equipment and supplies.
