PHILIPPINE SEA (June 5, 2021) Chief Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Eduardo Aceves, right, from Los Angeles, and Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 1st Class Emmanuel Bonsu, from Bronx, N.Y., both assigned to the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) conduct flight operations with F-35B Lightning from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). America, lead ship of the America Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
