Idaho Army National Guard soldier Spc. Joey Barber prepares to load a round in the 120mm mortar.
A highlight of training activity on one of the many Orchard Combat Training Center ranges was the joint fire exercise combining units from the Idaho Army and Air National Guard. A mortar platoon from the 2-116th Combined Arms Battalion and A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft from the 190th Fighter Squadron joined forces in the large-scale joint training event.
Beginning on May 1, 2021, several units from the Idaho Army National Guard spread out across the wide expanses of the Orchard Combat Training Center conducting exercises for their annual training requirements.
The Visual Information Office for the Idaho Army National Guard will begin posting a series of images this week that document the variety training and units from the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team.
