A Designated Marksman (DMs) with 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, assigned to the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command (SPMAGTF-CR-CC) prepares to participate in a range in the Central Command Area of Operations. DMs are infantrymen who utilize the M27 IAR to positively identify and destroy targets at distances up to 550 meters.
