Brigadier General Alan Lister from U.S. Indo-Pacific Command visited Vietnam Coast Guard ship CSB 8021 to welcome the crew to Hawaii and meet with its commanding officer, Commander Dang Le Son. The U.S. government gave the former Hamilton-class U.S. Coast Guard cutter to the Vietnam Coast Guard on Aug. 14, 2020. Having finished their training and outfitting, the crew is now sailing CSB 8021 from its former homeport in Seattle to Vietnam.
