U.S. Marines with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN), 31st Expeditionary unit (MEU), transition up a ramp to board an MV-22B Osprey to conduct a training exercise consisting of Marines practicing reponse time after receiving a call to action on the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Philippine Sea, June 16, 2021. Marines with the 31st MEU regularly conduct drills to ensure Marines are ready and prepared to respond to any of the missions that the 31st MEU may be required to conduct. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of America Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
