A Cal Fire MD-87 Type I Airtanker prepares for an aerial fire retardant drop to contain the Intanko Fire on Beale Air Force Base, California, June 8, 2021. Cal Fire’s assistance with aerial fire retardant drops and the 9th Civil Engineer Squadron rapid-creation of fire breaks played a crucial role in stopping the fire, which came within feet of base housing.
