    SAN DIEGO (June 17, 2021) Sailors assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) San Diego recite the Hospital Corpsman’s Pledge during a 123rd birthday celebration for the hospital corpsman rating at the hospital June 17. Hospital corpsman is the most decorated rating in the U.S. Navy with 23 Medal of Honor recipients, 946 Silver Stars and 1,582 Bronze Stars with a Combat “V” for heroism. NMRTC San Diego’s mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMRTC San Diego employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians and contractors in Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
