U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Steven B. Worden, 31st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron lead production superintendent, watches as munitions are loaded on a U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon assigned to the 510th Fighter Squadron during an Agile Combat Employment event in support of Exercise African Lion 21 at Guelmim Air Base, Morocco, 16 June 2021. ACE training prepares Airmen to become more versatile outside of their respective career fields and increases deterrence capabilities in more remote locations.
African Lion is U.S. Africa Command’s largest, premier, joint, annual exercise hosted by Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal, 7-18 June. More than 7,000 participants from nine nations and NATO train together with a focus on enhancing readiness for U.S. and partner nation forces. AL21 is a multi-domain, multi-component, and multi-national exercise, which employs a full array of mission capabilities with the goal to strengthen interoperability among participants.
