Master Sgt. Patrice Akakpo, a U.S. Air Force Reserve aircraft technician assigned to the 459th Air Refueling Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, is conducting pre-flight checks and making sure the primary and secondary oxygen systems are full on a KC-135 Stratotanker during Arctic Challenge Exercise 2021, at Rovaniemi Air Base, Finland, June 14. ACE 21 will involve a combination of flight operations, and includes participation from Denmark, Finland, Germany, NATO, The Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and the U.K. Our ability to quickly respond and reassure allies and partners rests upon the fact that we are here, in Europe, forward and ready.
