The parade is one of key events during Fiesta San Antonio and dates back to 1941. It runs along the River Walk in downtown San Antonio. Fiesta began as a one-time parade (Battle of Flowers) in 1891, to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto, has grown into a celebration of San Antonio's rich and diverse cultures. Military representatives participate in receptions, parades, pilgrimages and memorials.
