Lt. Col. Thomas Brown (standing), team leader, Humanitarian Assistance Survey Team, U.S. Army Pacific Contingency Command Post, members of the HAST and Australia Defense Force met with representatives of the Tonga National Emergency Management Office and the Tonga Police Force to exchange information and ideas of the ways the HAST can coordinate and assist to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the event of a disaster. They are taking part in “Coral Reef” a multinational emergency deployment readiness exercise to share humanitarian assistance and disaster relief techniques and procedures with Pacific partners from Australia, New Zealand and Tonga.
