Ribas, Deputy Commander for Mobilization & Reserve Affairs with U.S. Southern Command, joins senior Guyana Defence Force (GDF) leadership while visiting training sites during Tradewinds 2021, Camp Stephenson, Co-operative Republic of Guyana, June 24. General Ribas interacted with both U.S. and international troops to get insight on Tradewinds successes from all perspectives. The Florida Army National Guard’s (FLARNG) 2nd Battalion, 54th Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) joined other reserve and active duty components as advisors to international forces throughout Tradewinds. As a former Florida Guardsman himself, General Ribas expressed his gratitude over the troop’s commitment to service both at home and abroad. Tradewinds 2021 is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored Caribbean security-focused exercise in the ground, air, sea, and cyber domains, working with partner nations to conduct joint, combined and interagency training focused on increasing regional cooperation and stability.
