U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 52nd Civil Engineer Squadron work alongside U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Steven Basham, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa deputy commander, to fill a simulated runway crater during a rapid airfield damage repair demonstration June 24, 2021, on Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. The visit gave Spangdahlem AB Airmen the opportunity to showcase its civil engineer and medical capabilities in support of base defense, agile combat employment and global influence and deterrence.
