NAVAL STATION MAYPORT - (June 30, 2021) – Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Chad Lambert trips an anchor chain’s riding stopper on the fo’c’sle during a sea and anchor evolution aboard the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Billings (LCS 15), as the ship departs for its maiden deployment, June 30, 2021. During the deployment to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility, Billings, with embarked helicopter and USCG law enforcement detachment, will support Joint Interagency Task Force South's mission, which includes counter-illicit drug trafficking in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific.
