U.S. Marines with 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), unload equipment from an MV-22B Osprey with Medium Marine Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st MEU, to construct a Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) training exercise in Ie Shima June 28, 2021. A FARP is used to enable expeditionary refueling and rearming in various locations to provide aircraft more time on station. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
