Hong Fang Fang was born in Jiangxi Province on October
20, 2003, her biological parents wanted a boy so they opted
to abandon her at an orphanage. She was adopted in 2006 by
Marion and Kathy Weaver from Rome, Georgia, changing her
    name to Reidun Weaver.

Reidun graduated from Coosa high school in Rome, GA and enlisted
in the Army in May 2021 as a 94A, Land Combat Electronic
Missile System Repairer for 3 years.

    As a Land Combat Electronic
Missile System Repairer, Reidun will use the advanced
electronic skills she will be taught to perform maintenance on
a variety of missile systems and determine shortcomings and
malfunctions in electronic, electrical, mechanical and circuit
elements. The use of highly mobile missile launchers gives the Army a powerful edge in the
field so it will be vital that she keeps these powerful weapons systems in top fighting shape.
This summer, she will attend Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina,
with advanced training to follow at Fort Lee, Virginia.

When asked why she chose this path, her response was simple “It’s a way to give back to the
country that took me in”. After looking at all the other services, she felt that the Army had the
most to offer and would allow her to pick her specific job before contracting.

Reidun selected Raytheon Technologies as her PaYS (Partnership for Youth Success)
partner, which guarantees her an interview with the company upon her transition from service.
Raytheon Technologies, like the U.S. Army is a diverse and innovative organization. Reidun will
fit right in if she decides to choose that path after service.

Congratulations Future Soldier Weaver and welcome to the United States Army, we are
proud to have you in our family.
