The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Cowpens (CG 63) fires a Standard Missile 2 missile at an airborne drone during a live-fire weapons shoot. Cowpens is part of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group, the U.S. Navy's only forward deployed carrier strike group based in Yokosuka, Japan, and is conducting a routine patrol in the western Pacific region.
