Troopers with 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division observe a Stalag Luft III barracks model during a guided tour at the Great Escape Museum in Żagań, Poland, July 5, 2021. In March 1944, 76 prisoners escaped from Stalag Luft III, using an underground tunnel called “Harry” with a length of 110 meters dug by them, but only three of the prisoners were successful in escaping to freedom. Troopers with the 1st ABCT were able to explore the museum near the end of a nine-month rotation to Poland in support of Atlantic Resolve. Atlantic Resolve builds readiness, increases interoperability, and enhances the bond between ally and partner militaries using multinational training events across Europe. (U.S. Army photo by Pfc.
