SAN DIEGO (July 13, 2021) Donald Cure, Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) San Diego's Simulation and Bio-Skills Center lead simulation operations specialist (left), shows Rear Adm. Bruce Gillingham, Surgeon General of the Navy and Chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) (right), a training mannequin July 13. Gillingham visited NMRTC San Diego to meet with Sailors and staff, and toured a mental health clinic, advanced dental laboratory and USNS Mercy. NMRTC San Diego’s mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMRTC San Diego employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians, and contractors in Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
