    First Army

    Mr. Henry Langrehr, WWII veteran and paratrooper on D-Day, June 6, 1944, gets honorably recognized at First Army’s Change Of Command Ceremony, July 8, 2021, at Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Ill. Mr. Henry Langrehr’s story was featured in the 1962 film, “The Longest Day,” which featured his parachute drop into a glass roof of a greenhouse near Sainte-Mere-Eglise, France. Mr. Langrehr greeted First Army leaders including outgoing First Army Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Thomas S. James Jr., First Army Command Sergeant Major, Command Sgt. Maj. John P. McDwyer, and incoming First Army Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Antonio A. Aguto Jr., as well as FORSCOM Commanding General, Gen. Michael X. Garrett.
