JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (July 16, 2021) Commander, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Rear Adm. Joseph DiGuardo helps conduct a survey of the USS Arizona Memorial, July 16, as part of a collaborative effort between Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1 and the National Park Service to help preserve the historic site. A critical part of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force, MDSU-1 provides expeditionary and rapidly deployable diving and salvage companies capable of conducting harbor clearance, salvage, underwater search and recovery, and underwater emergency repair operations in support of the fleet and joint force.
