Sgt. Teresa Hoyos, who hails from Phoenix and is an Army Reservist and member of the 289th Transportation Detachment, embraces her daughter, Cari, after the unit’s deployment ceremony held at the Buckeye Armed Forces Reserve Center Sept. 18. Families and friends gathered to honor the soldiers at the ceremony, which officially sent the soldiers off to conduct a scheduled 12-month deployment to Kuwait.
