ANNAPOLIS, Md. (April 9, 2021) U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen meet with members of the Marine Corps Flight Orientation Program inside a UH-1Y Venom on Hospital Point. The UH-1Y Venom multi-role utility helicopter is equipped with a wide range of weapons and mission support configurations to also perform close air support missions, along with combat assault support, search and rescue/casualty evacuation, armed escort/reconnaissance, command and control, and special operation support. As the undergraduate college of our country's naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
