U.S. Navy Corpsmen with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conduct a tourniquet application demonstration for Marines in a Combat Life Saver (CLS) class, aboard USS New Orleans (LPD 18) in the Coral Sea, July 21, 2021. The CLS class involved a period of instruction about the use of tourniquets, H bandages, field dressing and triage techniques to address various types of wounds that a casualty may require treatment for. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
