210716-M-TT571-1552 ARABIAN GULF (July 16, 2021) – A Marine guides a joint light tactical vehicle attached to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as it is transferred from dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) to Landing Craft Utility 1661 during vehicle and equipment loading operations in the Arabian Gulf, July 16. Carter Hall and the 24th MEU are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the central region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
