U.S. Army Col. Ryan McCormack, the new 3rd Infantry Division Chief of Staff, addresses division leadership during a ceremony in Cashe Garden on Fort Stewart, Georgia, July 30, 2021. McCormack most recently commanded 75th Field Artillery Brigade at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. As the chief of staff, McCormack will serve as the principal advisor to the division commander. He will direct and coordinate the activities of the division general staff, which distills large amounts of information and makes it manageable for the commander.
