U.S. Air Force medic, Master Sgt. Leticia Brazil, 776th Expeditionary Air Base Squadron (EABS) medical team, administers a COVID-19 vaccine to a local contractor at Chabelley Airfield, July 29, 2021. U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, traveled to Chabelley to work alongside the 776th EABS medical team as part of an extended joint effort to vaccinate service members, Djiboutian employees and employees from other countries who work on U.S. military bases in Djibouti. Vaccines to local national base employees began in Djibouti in early July 2021. The vaccines are administered in accordance with Department of Defense policy and guidance to help reduce the burden of COVID-19 in high-risk populations and simultaneously mitigate risk to military operations.
